To meet other fans, alongside cast & crew members, over shows you’ve loved, making real connections that build the type of community that we all desperately seek is the premise of The Fan Fest Society.

The Fan Fest Society, from today until forever, aims to be a place where people gather over fandoms they love to celebrate fictional characters, those who created them, real life heroes/heroines and everyone in between. People supporting people, bonded by something unexpected, it’s as simple as that.

It’s hard to articulate, but we’ve seen it with our own eyes. Watching a group of strangers grow into a beautiful niche society is something we never predicted, but it’s worthy of preserving. With your support, we’ll replicate it ten times over and surely surprise ourselves along the way. What could be more ironic than a fictional TV show changing your life? We aren’t sure, because nothing stranger has happened to us yet.

The charmed nostalgia of a TV show changed us and so many people we have been surrounded by. It opened our eyes to new experiences, new people and new mindsets. Who we were before the events that led us here was a much different version of who we are now.

Storylines, whether on screen or on paper, can change you like that. It can show you the most idealistic of days and take you places you never thought you’d go. The story began there but it’s far from over.

Whether it simply makes you happy, propels you towards something good, changes your path completely or just connects you with a family member or friend, TV can absolutely change you for the better. We’ve heard hundreds of stories, so many so that you couldn’t convince us otherwise.

The Fan Fest Society was, honesty, a solution to a pandemic-era problem. People could no longer gather safely in-person and we kept thinking about how our beautiful little community, which thrives online year-around until we meet in person, could be multiplied to create other communities. A “society” just felt more novel and whimsical. And after all, who doesn’t love a little whimsy? It goes with everything.

Authentic fandoms mean more than just the thing that brought them together. So, while it make take some time to fully understand what we’re up to at The Fan Fest Society, we hope you’ll stick around. Because, just like your favorite shows, we might surprise you with where we’re going and what we’re up to.

First up, we’ll do what we know best. We’ll plan a “Girls” Weekend in Kent, Connecticut. We’ll drink coffee and talk about relationships, the pleasures of quirky personalities and we’ll enjoy a rural town with good food and beautiful scenery in the fall. There will be colored leaves, conversations and you’ll likely imbibe on your choice beverage. Late nights, early mornings (if you chose) and serious shenanigans. October is the most wonderful time of the year for this fan fest society. Once we gain our footing, and the world begins to heal from last year, we’ll start launching new societies with their own personalities, events and opportunities.

2021 is a year of change, because we all know what’s possible now. New societies may begin virtually, or in person. They may be groups on social media or they may be something different all together. So, stay tuned. And, please, join us. Next time & every time.

We’re excited to see where this leads, we hope you’ll follow.
